"I wish to record my thanks and appreciation for all the hard work both Caroline and Kit gave to assisting me with the purchase of my dream home. I first contacted Alexander James when I spotted the property for sale on Rightmove. I had already found a purchaser for my existing home, and as about to exchange contracts in order not to lose my sale of my flat. I decided to take the risk and exchange contracts, which meant I needed to exchange and complete the purchase of the new home by 30th March, or find suitable rented accommodation I viewed the property on Saturday 14th February and agreed terms with the vendor by Tuesday 17th. From that point on, Caroline came into her own, she was persistent in making sure both sets of solicitors responded quickly and did not allow either side to drag their feet. When Caroline was not available, Kit stepped in and provided an equally efficient and professional service. Like the majority of property transactions, the process can be very stressful and frustrating, mine was no different. Unfortunately the solicitors I had been recommended were not as customer focussed as I would have expected. Very little was achieved unless either Caroline or I contacted and harassed them into action. With the persistence of Caroline I was able to exchange contracts on Friday 27th March, and complete the purchase on Monday 30th March - the same day the sale completed on my existing home. Without Caroline and Kit's tenacity I probably would have lost the opportunity to purchase my new home, and living in rented accommodation. "My sister and I had to sell my mothers house, a probate sale of a house we had both known as children 40 years ago, James Alexander couldn't have done more for us. A very realistic valuation, friendly and professional, time not an issue at a point in my life when honesty and time mattered. Then it got better!!!!!!!! When we were ready to sell they advised us about best marketing price and how to go about getting the best offer, not over pricing , no promising the earth and unable to deliver as other agents would have tried. Kens team are lovely. They are friendly and kind. I could almost be their only customer, every detail remembered. They worked their socks off showing our home to the many interested buyers. then helped us chose the best buyer (the highest offer isn't always the best bet). We have been kept in the loop at every stage, phone calls keeping us updated, being fab go-betweens for us and our buyers. They even did everything twice as my sister and I aren't reliably communicating. We have ended up with a non conventional contract (work between exchange and completion) which might have been a scary nightmare but Ken and his team have seen every possibility over the years and made it so easy and simple. All the solicitor had to do was cross Ts and dot Is. I have felt so safe with J Alexander's knowledge and experience that as a result we have a super buyer and a happy seller with minimal stress. Even after we'd exchanged (but before completion), Caroline went out of her way to ensure our contractors could access the property, although there was no longer anything to gain for the agents, we would hardly have forfeited our deposit if the builders had had to wait another week. Couldn't imagine most other estate agents doing this. They also managed to nudge things along when things seemed to be taking a long time with the other side's lawyer. Would use them again."
